Economic Intelligence
Good governance practices do not depend only on the strengthening of public institutions, but also on the transparency of their functioning, notably on budget transparency. DMI has developed a technical assistance to governments, to help them fight against embezzlement, corruption, money laundering, and to assist in the recovery of ill-gained assets:
- Technical assistance to the setting up of national agencies in charge of Financial investigations, and/or of economic intelligence agencies,
- Drafting of analytical database on economic and financial data to facilitate the investigation process and the identification of ill-gained assets, the research on mechanisms of corruption and money laundering,
- Identification of vehicles used to invest ill-gotten funds,
- implementation of international mechanisms prompting the launch of judicial cooperation facilitating international investigations and then the recovery of ill-gotten funds,
- Assistance to the drafting of diplomatic agreements on bilateral administrative cooperation,
- Assistance the strengthening of budget transparency,
- Training of magistrates, of judicial personnel, and of internal security forces
