Support to the Constitutional Court

Description

The Constitutional Court of Georgia (CCG) was established in 1996 and has faced important developments in terms of its structure and competencies.
Within the framework of EU approximation process, the project aims at strengthening the rule of law and human rights protection in Georgia in line with Georgia’s international commitments.
The Purpose of the project is the Institutional Strengthening of the Constitutional Court of Georgia.This will contribute to the effectively fulfillment of its functions, e.g. ensure just and highly professional approaches in constitutional review, separation of powers, adjudication upon complaints challenging constitutionality of laws, treaties, by-laws, and regulations vis-à-vis the basic principles of the Constitution of Georgia as well as fundamental rights and freedoms enshrined therein and in international acts.
The expected results of the contract are as follows:
R1: Development of the CCG Legislative Framework;
R2: Strengthening the Institutional Capacities of the CCG;
R3: Public Awareness Campaign on the CCG
