Brief Description of Role |
To assist in the continuing development of the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) through the introduction of: § Internal Audit Strategy § Training Strategy |
To assist and support the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) in Bosnia & Herzegovina in the drafting of amendments to the Value Added Tax (VAT) legislation and associated procedures in accordance with national legislative requirements and in approximation to EU standards. |

Key Responsibilities |

· Assist ITA in reassessing the organization and the responsibilities of the ITA’s Internal Audit Structure and in evaluating its conformity with the requirements of the International Internal Audit Standards. · Assist ITA in developing internal control procedures. · Assist ITA in drafting necessary Internal Audit procedures and preparing audit modules, in particular for financial and procurement systems, as well as suggesting relevant amendments to the existing procedures, rules and internal auditing practices. · Organize training sessions and seminars for Internal Audit staff on audit procedures, · Assist ITA in developing a training strategy and in modernising, planning and implementing of the ITA Training Centre; · Provide Train-the-Trainer courses to internal

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required |

· Professional experience of at least 10 years at a similar post in a National Customs Administration; · Sound knowledge and experience in EU Origin legislation, methodologies and practices; · Proven sound experience in administering, implementing and reviewing Origin framework and systems; · International experience, preferably in the Western Balkan area is advantageous; · Ability to set and accomplish realistic targets; · Ability to work in multicultural environments; · Ability to work under pressure; · Interpersonal, communication, decision-making skills; demonstration of initiative; · Excellent English verbal and written skills |
