Workshop for DAG members on “The Voluntary Fair-Trade Market In the EU, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru - 1 expert

Objectifs / Objectives

The specific objectives are:

  • To present and provide a general overview of the aspects generally considered in the development and implementation of Fair-Trade certification schemes and how they are monitored;
  • To inform the DAG members about the current state of play of Fair-Trade between the EU and the Andean countries (some key figures eg.sales figures in the EU; production figures in the Andean countries, policies currently in place to promote give market access to disadvantaged producers)
  • To provide information about ongoing initiatives between the EU and Andean countries;
  • To provide the DAGs with information within the context of the Trade and Sustainable Development chapter of the EU-Col/Ecu/Peru FTA, so as to feed their ongoing work

profil / profile

Qualification et compétences / Qualification & skills

  • Fluent English or Spanish speaker (there will be both English and Spanish interpretation);
  • Excellent general knowledge of the topic,
  • Excellent communicator;
  • Very good understanding of intercultural communication challenges and practices

Expérience professionelle générale / General professional experience

  • Experience in analysis market data on sustainable consumption production in the Andean countries or the EU;
  • Experience in analysing sustainable consumption and production public policies in the Andean countries or the EU;
  • Knowledge of the EU-Col/Ecu/Peru Trade Agreement;
  • Knowledge of current EU-Col/Ecu/Peru political relations.
