The main objective of this project is to establish the capacity within the Tajik administration to identify priority areas for implementation of the trade, economic and commercial provisions of the TCA The specific objectives are: To strengthen the countries capacities in drafting laws and implementing regulations. To improve the country’s foreign investment climate. The project has five main components:Legal approximation with particular focus on economic, investment and external trade issues. This includes assisting the Government Institutions in assessing the economic and social rationale for the legislation, the relevance of this legislation and the impact on external trade and investment and the degree of harmonization that is required. Developing government policy, including the provision of extensive training courses and policy advice on economic (improving the investment climate, foreign trade promotion) and administrative reform matters. Policy papers were produced in a number of areas i.e. Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), Technical regulation System (TRS), Public Procurement (PP), Trade and Investment (T&I) Monitoring the Trade Cooperation Agreement implementation Encourage the participation of the civil society in the policy debate Ensure visibility and public awareness
